Creative Video Editor & Storyteller for Short-Form Founder Content (US-Based Preferred)
We’re looking for a creative editor who can find the story inside raw footage — and turn it into emotionally resonant, highly engaging short-form video (think Instagram Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts). We run a founder community called joinstartupvillage.com, and we’re constantly filming: early-stage entrepreneurs, retreats, events, and candid behind-the-scenes moments. A lot of it is casual, unscripted, and personal — and we need someone who can help shape that into something compelling, clean, and viral. ⸻ What You’ll Do: • Watch raw video footage (from interviews, iPhone clips, events) • Find the story or hook — don’t just cut clips, craft a narrative • Script or reword voiceovers that sound authentic and emotional • Edit into short-form vertical video with captions, sound effects, and music transitions • Suggest how we can shoot better content in the future (framing, scenes, VO ideas) • Collaborate with a voiceover artist when needed ⸻ You Might Be a Fit If You: • Have experience editing short-form content for personal brands or founder-style creators • Love storytelling and have a great sense of pacing, music, and emotional arcs • Can write or refine voiceover copy that hooks people • Understand styles like Buildspace, Foundr, Indie Hackers, Justin Kan, or Casey Neistat • Have a portfolio of social-first content that feels energetic, honest, and well-crafted • Are comfortable working off messy, candid footage and making it feel premium
