African American Heritage Association of Virginia (AAHA! Virginia is a heritage-based, community-rooted nonprofit cultural communications publisher. Our mission is to preserve, elevate, and promote African American heritage through storytelling, tourism, media, and economic engagement. We produce compelling public media, print publications, and digital content designed to illuminate pivotal cultural moments that move people—and communities—forward. In 2025, we are launching a statewide tourism platform and publishing network as part of the African American Heritage Tourism Network (AAHTN), a transformative initiative to connect, promote, and fund heritage-based travel experiences. Role Overview We seek a Fundraising and Development Consultant/Director to lead our revenue development efforts, manage sponsorship and advertising sales, and coordinate development activities for our B2B and B2C programs. The ideal candidate is a creative, culturally competent professional with experience in heritage media, Black-led nonprofits, or tourism-driven community initiatives. This position combines traditional fundraising strategy (grants, sponsorships, donor engagement) with digital revenue generation (multimedia campaigns, social media activations, SEO/SEM partnerships).
