Freelance Operations & Fulfillment Consultant (Shopify / QuickBooks / Order Accuracy) Location: U.S.-based (Preferred: NYC or surrounding area) Experience in Shopify E-commerce Required / Fresh Food Logistics (Preferred) Role Overview We’re looking for a U.S.-based freelance consultant or operations specialist to optimize and manage our fulfillment process from end to end. This role will involve hands-on improvements to how order information goes from Shopify to QuickBooks, packing list creation, label generation, packing coordination, and implementing check steps to reduce shipping and order errors. Because we ship live lobster, precision and reliability are critical. Key Responsibilities - Review the order workflow from Shopify to QuickBooks - Set up and fix our packing slip generation system so that all critical information is on the order - no manual writing - Improve label generation system - Create a clear, step-by-step pick/pack checklist to minimize fulfillment errors - Recommend and help implement tools, apps, or workflows to reduce manual inputs. - Advise on staffing or workflow layout for increased fulfillment efficiency - Identify common error points and build safeguards or verification steps - Help us streamline the manual order fulfillment (which is critical since we sell live lobsters) - Note: We have a website developer - that is not the role. We are looking for someone who has hands-on operational experience and also has an understanding of the apps/integrations needed to prevent errors as orders are received by our Ops team. If NYC-local: potentially visit or coordinate with our packing team on-site in Huntington, New York.
