PLC Programming and Automation for Fast Growing Beverage Producer
We’re launching a new automated beverage production and canning facility, and we're looking for an experienced PLC Programmer to help bring our automation systems online. You’ll work with our engineering team to develop PLC programs from scratch based on provided process flow descriptions and I/O requirements. This is a hands-on, fast-paced contract role ideal for someone with strong experience across multiple PLC platforms and programming languages. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver PLC code for various parts of the production and canning line Interpret process flow diagrams and I/O lists to design functional control logic Work with multiple controller brands and programming environments Support integration of sensors, actuators, and other control hardware Deliver ready-to-deploy code and documentation for uploading to controllers Provide remote support for testing and troubleshooting during commissioning Required Skills & Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience with PLC programming in industrial settings Strong knowledge of multiple PLC platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, Schneider) Proficiency in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and other IEC 61131-3 languages Ability to work independently from technical descriptions or process specs Previous automation work in food & beverage or packaging environments is a strong plus Experience with industrial networking and I/O configurations Bonus Points For: Familiarity with HMI or SCADA development (e.g., FactoryTalk View, TIA Portal, Ignition) Remote troubleshooting and simulation/testing tools Prior experience working with startups or greenfield facility buildouts
