Industrial Designer / Mechanical Engineer – Accessories & Components
Description: We’re a fast-growing family-owned business that designs, engineers, and manufactures off-road vehicle accessories. We’re seeking a product design engineer to support our in-house R&D team as we scale our proprietary product line. ________________________________________ What You’ll Work On: • Design and engineer accessories and components (bumpers, lighting, brackets, mounts, small assemblies, enclosures, etc.) • Create clean, detailed SolidWorks CAD models and production-ready drawings • Iterate rapidly based on live feedback from R&D leadership and ownership • Prototype parts using our in-house 3D printer or external shop production • Collaborate with in-house engineers and technical leads (Teams calls) • Deliver DFM-ready designs for eventual production ________________________________________ Requirements: • Expert SolidWorks user – fast, clean, production-capable modeling • Strong mechanical design foundation with good aesthetic intuition • Experience designing real-world, manufacturable components • Comfortable with prototyping methods (especially 3D printing) • Understanding of materials, tolerances, fasteners, and DFM • Baseline electrical understanding (e.g., routing wires, lighting integration) • Fast-moving, independent, and communicative • Fluent in English • Must be available to start immediately, ~20 – 40 hours per week ________________________________________ Nice to Have: • Experience with automotive, off-road, or industrial machinery • Familiarity with wiring harnesses, lighting systems, or electrical integration • Interest in ongoing work beyond the 6-week contract
