Experienced Google Sheets and Apps Script Developer Needed for Debugging and Automation
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Google Apps Script developer to join our team for ongoing debugging tasks and exciting new Google Sheet projects. Our ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives on understanding client needs and delivering effective, automated solutions with a high degree of autonomy. You will be responsible for: Debugging and Enhancing Existing Scripts: -Troubleshoot and resolve issues within current Google Apps Script projects, optimizing for performance and reliability. -Developing New Custom Solutions: Design and implement new scripts from the ground up to automate processes, manipulate data, integrate with other Google Workspace services (like Docs, -Forms, Gmail), and meet diverse client requirements within Google Sheets. -Client Needs Analysis: Quickly grasp the core requirements of each client's request, asking clarifying questions when necessary, but ultimately working to devise effective solutions with minimal ongoing guidance. -Independent Project Management: Manage your workload effectively, ensuring projects stay on track and that you meet agreed-upon deadlines consistently. We Need Someone Who Demonstrates: -Meticulous Attention to Detail -The ability to follow complex instructions precisely and ensure all aspects of a project are addressed (i.e., "to the tee"). -Strong Focus and Task Management: Proven ability to stay on task, manage priorities effectively, and avoid distractions to ensure timely project completion. -Commitment to Deadlines: Reliability in meeting deadlines is paramount. We need a developer who plans their work and communicates proactively if any unforeseen challenges arise. -Clear and Consistent Communication: Willingness and ability to provide concise and informative weekly project updates, detailing progress, any roadblocks, and next steps. -Proactive Problem-Solving: You don't just identify problems; you actively seek and implement solutions. You're resourceful and can think critically to overcome challenges. -Independent Work Ethic: You are comfortable taking ownership of projects and driving them to completion with little direct supervision, once the initial scope is understood. -Passion for Automation: A genuine enthusiasm for leveraging Google Apps Script to streamline workflows and create efficient solutions. Required Skills & Experience: -Proven experience in developing and debugging Google Apps Script (please provide examples of past projects or a portfolio). -Strong proficiency in JavaScript. -Deep understanding of Google Sheets functionalities, including complex formulas, data manipulation, and UI elements (custom menus, sidebars, dialogs). -Experience with Google Workspace APIs (GmailApp, DriveApp, CalendarApp, etc.) is a plus. -Ability to write clean, well-commented, and maintainable code. -Excellent communication skills in English.
