Web Performance Engineer (As-Needed, Ongoing
We’re looking for a skilled Web Performance Engineer to join our team on an ongoing, as-needed basis. Your role will be to ensure our websites load quickly, run efficiently, and remain technically sound across updates and content changes. Responsibilities include: Auditing site speed and performance using tools like Lighthouse, GTmetrix, or WebPageTest Identifying and resolving bottlenecks (e.g., scripts, CSS, image optimization, server issues) Fixing broken elements or layout issues on desktop and mobile Working with caching, CDNs, and other performance-enhancing tools Ensuring consistent uptime and responsiveness Collaborating with our design/dev team as needed Making recommendations for long-term performance strategy Ideal Candidate: Strong knowledge of web development (HTML, CSS, JS) Deep understanding of website optimization techniques Experience with WordPress, Webflow, or similar platforms Familiar with performance monitoring tools Responsive and easy to communicate with Available on-call for periodic updates, fixes, and audits Engagement Details: This is an ongoing, hourly project Work will be assigned as needed, ranging from quick fixes to deeper performance audits Must be comfortable with occasional short turnarounds
