I’m looking for a U.S.-based Enrolled Agent (EA) or CPA to help clean up my small business tax situation across several years. I need someone who can help file a missing tax return with a $60K loss, review a past-due year, dispute state sales tax issues, and dissolve my Virginia LLC. I’m looking for someone who can work in phases and help guide me through what’s missing. ⸻ What I Need Help With: Federal IRS Tax Issues: • File 2022 tax return (includes ~$60,000 business loss from shutdown) • Review or file 2021 return (confirm what’s owed and if it’s accurate) • Apply 2022 loss as a Net Operating Loss (NOL) carryforward • Possibly amend 2023/2024 if overpaid due to missing loss • Help request penalty relief or hardship status if applicable Virginia Sales Tax (business was under girlfriend’s name): • Determine what’s owed and what years are missing • Help correct or refile overestimated sales tax returns • Assist in disputing or reassigning tax responsibility LLC Closure: • File Articles of Cancellation in Virginia (LLC no longer active) • Ensure EIN/federal closure if needed • Confirm state obligations are cleared ⸻ What I Have (or Don’t Have): • 2023 + 2024 are already filed and paid • I do not have bookkeeping done for 2022 • No IRS or state letters (we’ve moved a lot) • Need help gathering info, pulling transcripts, and organizing what’s missing ⸻ Ideal Person: • U.S.-based EA or CPA • Has handled IRS back tax cleanup and NOL filings • Familiar with Virginia Department of Taxation • Can help pull transcripts, organize filings, and offer options • Willing to work in phases — not everything at once • Bonus: experience handling state tax issues filed under someone else’s name (but operated by client) ⸻ Budget: Flexible, but ideally looking for someone in the $300–$800 range per phase (starting with 2022). Open to fixed project pricing or hourly with clear milestones.
