CPA Needed: Multi-State Tax Support & Bookkeeping (Including Power of Attorney)

We are seeking a U.S.-licensed CPA to manage our personal and business tax matters across multiple states (Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama). Responsibilities include immediate extension filings (for the 2023 and 2024 tax years), ongoing bookkeeping, and IRS communications via Power of Attorney. Businesses: • Tech VII (Marketing and Rental) - Based in Tennessee • Husky Mountain (Airbnb & Dog Boarding) - Operating in Georgia/Alabama Personal tax filing support is also required. Primary Responsibilities: 1. Power of Attorney & IRS Representation • Prepare and file required documents (e.g., Form 2848). • Handle any IRS inquiries or disputes on our behalf. 2. Immediate Tax Extensions & Catch-Up • File necessary extensions for 2023 and 2024 tax years as soon as possible. • Organize existing records (transaction count is unclear; we can provide reports/data upon request). 3. Ongoing Monthly Bookkeeping • Manage and categorize expenses in QuickBooks. • Distinguish clearly between personal and business expenses. • Provide monthly summaries (P&L, expense reports) according to a reasonable schedule. 4. Annual Tax Filings • File federal and multi-state returns (covering TN, GA, AL, and any additional states if needed). Qualifications: • Active U.S. CPA license • Ability to handle multi-state filings for personal and business returns • Familiarity with QuickBooks (or willingness to advise on best setup) • Experience with short-term rentals/Airbnb is a plus • Strong organizational and communication skills Budget & Milestones (Suggested): • Tax Extensions & Initial Setup: $300 • Catch-Up Bookkeeping (up to 500 transactions; flexible if more): $500 • Ongoing Monthly Bookkeeping (~2 hours/month): $150/month • Annual Tax Filing (two businesses + personal): $750 Timeline Expectations: • Extensions: Ideally filed within 1–2 weeks of contract start (or sooner to prevent any late penalties). • Monthly Bookkeeping: Ongoing, with monthly reports delivered by a mutually agreed-upon date. • Annual Filings: Completed before applicable deadlines (federal and state). Start Date: Immediate. Extensions are time-sensitive.
