ML/AI Engineer Specializing in LLM and NLP
We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Engineer with a strong background in Natural Language Processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), and applied data science to collaborate on an upcoming grant-funded project focused on human-AI collaboration. The project involves developing and evaluating intelligent systems that support effective interaction between human users and AI. You will be working closely with the primary researcher to bring the vision of the AI solution to life. The researcher will be designing the key components, and you will be responsible for implementing them, performing experimentation, communicating findings, and so on. Key Tasks: - Explore the use of image, video and animation generation GenAI tools to generate content - Explore state-of-the-art open and closed source LLMs for specific content generation tasks - Fine-tune and evaluate NLP/LLM models to support interactive, AI-driven content generation - Benchmark various GenAI and LLM tools on curated datasets - Create embeddings of content for fast retrieval - Design and implement data pipelines to support model training and evaluation - Collaborate with the research and development team to align model capabilities with user interaction goals -Support feasibility studies through experiments, benchmarks, and technical documentation for inclusion in a grant submission - Meet with primary researcher twice a week to communicate progress and plan next steps Requirements: - U.S. Citizen (must meet federal grant eligibility) - Foundational data science training - Extensive experience with LLMs, animation, and video generation tools - Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks - Have done real-world AI implementation projects - Masters or PhD level training - Can follow directions, good with time management, and has good attention to detail -Experience working on various complex AI systems -Familiarity with healthcare, education, or content development domains is a plus -Comfortable working in a research-focused, grant-based environment Documentation required for the grant: --------------------------------------------- -Must provide a biosketch -Must provide a resume -Must submit a letter of support confirming your participation if the grant is awarded Timeline: This project is expected to start in the next 6 months if awarded.
