Seeking an experienced copywriting professional with an eye for design to join our marketing team. Ideal candidates would have an interest in the scrapbooking, photography, interior design and/or printing industries. This position is an opportunity to gain experience with brand and content management, as well as developing processes that optimize content across an ecosystem of platforms. Printed photos are tangible reminders of precious memories, and are shown to increase feelings of connection to self, partner, and family. Our mission is to free photos from phones, and to help strengthen communities across the nation through the power of print. Job Purpose Oversees the performance and creation of our content catalogue, and ensures the stability of the Persnickety Prints brand. Role + Responsibilities: This role would be the primary person in charge of writing briefs, approving final deliverables, and working to expand the capacity of our team. - Become an authority on the Persnickety Prints brand and approve creatives before publication - Evaluate the performance of the company’s content catalogue, and implement processes to build a content ecosystem - Craft thorough briefs for written and creative content pertaining to various methods of scrapbooking, home decor, and wedding decor. - Manage content projects and ensure deliverables are completed in a timely manner - Collaborate with the Campaign Manager to strategize content for upcoming seasonal and evergreen initiatives Hours & Availability: 20 hrs/week. After 3 months successful candidates will have opportunity (but not required) to increase to a total 30-40 hrs/week Opportunity to work remotely, required availability from 12 - 4:30 PM MDT/MST Estimated length of contract: 6-12 months At the end of 12 months, the company will evaluate the opportunity to move this contract to a permanent, full-time position. Required Experience: - Proven writing ability - Familiar with SEO best practices - Eye for design - Passion for storytelling Preferred Experience: - Proven ability to write engaging scripts for instructional videos - Basic graphic design experience - Experience writing briefs for creatives, copywriting, and projects - Personal or professional experience in the printing, photography, design, or crafting industry - Copy editing experience - Ad experience Communication Methods Our marketing team utilizes project management software Asana, a messaging service of Slack, and remote employees utilize the work monitoring software HubStaff. GSuite is also used for email and cloud storage. Permanent and contracted employees are not expected to respond to messages outside of contracted work hours. Interview Process Applicants will be contacted and asked to send a portfolio of any relevant work, including at least one piece of copy with a 2-4k word count. Candidates will then progress through a multi-stage interview process. 1. Introductory Interview, 20-30 min 2. Intermediate Interview, 30-45 min 3. Paid Test Project (10 hrs) to complete within 1.5 weeks, and a scheduled 30 min meeting to discuss results. All stages will involve the Director of Operations and at least 1 other marketing or executive employee. Looking to hire for this position by the end of June.
