MVP App to Estimate Fair Market Value of Donated Items Using AI
We’re building an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) app to help users determine the Fair Market Value (FMV) of physical items—especially clothing and household goods—primarily for charitable donation purposes (e.g., for tax reporting). The app should allow users to take a photo of an item, then use AI to identify the item and return a reliable FMV based on data from online marketplaces. Key MVP Features: Photo Input: Take or upload an image of the item (clothing, household items, etc.). AI Recognition: Use an AI model (e.g., Google Vision, Amazon Rekognition, or similar) to classify the item (e.g., “Nike Men’s Hoodie”). FMV Estimation: Run an automated search across resale platforms (eBay, Facebook Marketplace, etc.) to find comparable listings and estimate the FMV. FMV Report: Display FMV, comparable links, and allow the user to save or export results for tax documentation. Basic UX: Simple, clean UI focused on ease-of-use.
