Azure SQL Managed Instance DBA Consultant
We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance to assist our internal team with a comprehensive evaluation of our current Azure SQL Managed Instance database setup. Project Scope: • Review and assess the current Azure SQL Managed Instance (MI) configuration • Evaluate and provide recommendations on: o Security settings and access controls o Auditing and logging configurations o Performance optimization opportunities o Backup and recovery strategy o Best practices for high availability and disaster recovery in Azure SQL MI Requirements: • Proven experience with Azure SQL Managed Instance deployments in production environments • Strong knowledge of SQL Server administration, security, and performance tuning • Familiarity with Azure-native tools such as Azure Monitor, Defender for SQL, and Log Analytics • Ability to clearly document findings and provide actionable recommendations • Experience integrating SQL MI with other Azure services (e.g., Azure Key Vault, Private Link, etc.) • Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, HIPAA, NIST) as they relate to database security • Able to start quickly. Duration: Initial engagement is estimated at 20–40 hours, with potential for follow-up work.
