Electronics Engineer for Analog Signal Acquisition & Fault Trigger Transmission System

Description: We are looking for an experienced electronics and embedded systems engineer to develop a complete monitoring solution based on a Raspberry Pi. The system must acquire analog signals, detect faults based on defined criteria, and transmit trigger data over the internet, with a focus on reliability and precision. Project Scope: 1. Hardware Design (Analog Front-End) Design input circuitry for ~14 analog channels up to 480Vac/dc with overvoltage protection, isolation, filtering and interface with external ADC (e.g. ADS8688 or similar via SPI) 2. Raspberry Pi Integration Use Raspberry Pi (CM4 or standard) as main controller, Configure SPI interface for high-speed ADC communication (~20 kHz per channel). Buffer and timestamp analog data, detect faults based on trigger logic (e.g. threshold crossing or waveform anomaly) 3. Trigger Event Handling Store data for ±2000 ms around each fault, save data locally and transmit via internet (MQTT, HTTPS, or similar) including timestamp (from GPS) and unique device ID 4. Deliverables Schematics (KiCad preferred), verified parts list / BOM, Python or C code for data acquisition, fault detection, and transmission. Simple web or CLI interface for configuration and diagnostics and test routine and example dataset Requirements: Strong experience with Raspberry Pi GPIO/SPI Analog signal acquisition and conditioning High-speed data handling and buffering Internet communication from embedded Linux Bonus: Experience with marine or industrial electrical systems To Apply, please include: Relevant project examples or portfolios Your proposed ADC solution and programming language Estimated timeline and availability Preferred Location: Southern California, e.g Los Angeles, Long Beaqch, Orange County
