Supabase Functions and Triggers Expert
Description: I’m looking for a Supabase expert to help implement a set of database functions and triggers I've already mapped out. While I have a solid background in Google AppSheet and App Script, I need someone with deeper experience in Supabase’s backend features to handle implementation, optimization, and workflow validation. I do not have the time to learn all the nuances that come with Supabase at the moment. I just need my flows completed. Current Stack: - Frontend: Deployed on Vercel (Next.js) - Backend: Supabase (Postgres + Auth + Storage) - Functions: Primarily serverless workflows - External Integrations: Some functions will need to interact with external APIs such as OpenAI and Google APIs What’s Already Done: - Tables and schemas are fully defined and organized - Workflows are documented with clear logic for each function/trigger - Some draft SQL and initial triggers are in place - Environment is clean, version-controlled, and ready for implementation What You’ll Help With: - Writing and deploying Postgres functions and event-driven triggers inside Supabase - Implementing workflows that require making secure external HTTP calls (OpenAI, Google APIs, etc.) - Ensuring event logic triggers correctly and handles async responses when needed - Optimizing SQL for performance and scalability - Validating that all edge workflows operate correctly via Supabase + Vercel - Advising on best practices for RLS (Row-Level Security) and role-based access - General cleanup and light support on logic-related troubleshooting Ideal Candidate: - Advanced experience with Supabase and Postgres (PL/pgSQL) - Strong understanding of edge/serverless function architecture - Familiar with making external API calls within database workflows or via Supabase Edge Functions Bonus: Experience with OpenAI API, Google Apps APIs, or similar services Clear communicator who can provide thoughtful feedback on implementation choices Budget & Timeline: Budget: Tight, im behind and don't have a ton of room to spare. Timeline: Targeting completion within 1–2 weeks based on implementing one workflow at a time and ensuring that the database flows seamlessly with the front end.
