Cinematographer Needed for Short Promo Shoot
We are seeking a talented and experienced cinematographer who can work as a local hire in Austin, TX, for a short, visually driven promo shoot for an exciting upcoming project (details will be shared with shortlisted candidates due to contest restrictions). This project aims to create compelling promotional content to generate interest and showcase the tone and style of the final product. The video will conclude with a brief spoken introduction featuring two individuals. The shoot will be 1 day. The focus will be on strong visual storytelling, capturing key moments and atmosphere through creative camera work, lighting, and composition. Responsibilities: Collaborate with the director/project lead to understand the visual style and objectives of the promo. Develop a shot list and camera plan that effectively conveys the project's essence and considers the final spoken introduction. Operate professional-level camera equipment. Ensure high-quality footage that aligns with the desired aesthetic. Potentially oversee or collaborate on basic sound recording for the final introduction. Manage and organize all camera and lighting equipment on set. Ensure all safety protocols are followed on set. Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a cinematographer with a strong portfolio showcasing visually compelling work (please include a link to your reel or portfolio). Proficiency in operating professional cinema cameras and related equipment. Strong understanding of lighting principles and techniques for various scenarios. Excellent understanding of composition, framing, and camera movement. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
