Landscape Designer for Food Forest & Edible Garden – Layout + Plant Report (Florida Focus)

We’re Bring Back Eden, a Florida-based edible landscape and food forest company. We design regenerative outdoor spaces for homeowners, schools, and communities using native, edible, and medicinal plants. We’re currently hiring a designer to collaborate on a residential edible landscape project in Miami, FL (Zone 10B). The property will include native pollinators, medicinal herbs, tropical fruit trees, and layered zones that support food production, beauty, and biodiversity. This is a visual-forward layout that will be used in a client-facing design packet. If this project goes well, we have multiple others in the pipeline. Scope of Work (Deliverables): You will help us create a clean, professional 10–15 page design packet using our branded Canva template. We’ll provide a general plant list, zone details, and client preferences. 2D Layout Design Top-down map showing zone placement (food forest, herbs, pollinators, vines, etc.) Zones will be labeled with plant categories and pathways as needed Plant List Organization Common and Latin names Layer (tree, shrub, herb, groundcover, vine) Functions (edible, medicinal, pollinator, etc.) Grouped by zone Design Report in Canva Template (10–15 pages) You will insert your layout and written summaries into our provided template. Sections include: Cover page Project goals and vision Zone-by-zone design summaries Full plant list Brief maintenance notes and visual flow highlights What We Provide: Aerial images and site photos Zone measurements (back yard, front yard, sides) Curated plant list based on client goals Branded Canva report template Sample layouts and narrative structure Timeline & Rate: $28-35/ hour We expect the scope to take approximately 10–12 hours Target turnaround: 7–10 days from start Includes two rounds of revisions Ideal Candidate: Strong visual layout experience in Canva, SketchUp, or similar tools Familiar with edible landscaping, permaculture, or pollinator-friendly design Comfortable working from a plant list and visualizing functional outdoor spaces Optional: experience with tropical/subtropical plants (Zone 10 preferred) To Apply: Please send: 1–2 relevant layout samples or planting plans A brief note on your experience with landscape or edible garden design Your hourly rate and approximate availability this week
