Software Engineer & App Developer – Podcast-Focused Social Media App
About Us: We’re building Chys – a next-generation, podcast-focused social media app that empowers creators and listeners to connect in a dynamic, visual, and community-driven way. Think Instagram meets Spotify, but with a strong focus on audio, interaction, and neighborhood discovery. We’re passionate about reimagining how people discover, share, and engage with audio content. The Role: We’re looking for a versatile and innovative Software Engineer & App Developer to take a leading role in building the Chys platform from the ground up. You’ll work closely with the founders to architect, develop, and scale our mobile and web app. Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of our mobile app (iOS/Android) and web interface Build user profiles, content feeds, podcast integration, social features, and messaging Develop a scalable backend infrastructure and integrate cloud services Ensure app security, user privacy, and smooth performance Contribute to UI/UX decisions and iterate quickly based on feedback Work with APIs (e.g., podcast directories, social integrations, analytics) Build for growth: architecture that supports millions of users Requirements: Proven experience building and launching mobile apps (Flutter, React Native, or native iOS/Android) Strong knowledge of frontend and backend development (e.g., Node.js, Firebase, AWS, MongoDB, etc.) Experience with media streaming, social networking features, and real-time communication Familiar with design systems and intuitive, responsive UI/UX Ability to work independently and in startup-like environments Bonus: Experience with audio/podcast apps, GraphQL, Bubble, or low-code tools Passion for audio content, social platforms, or pet/creator communities is a plus!
