PicVet AI Pet Health App (MVP)
PicVet is building an AI-driven mobile app that analyzes pet health from photos (coat, stool, eyes, food, etc.). We need a developer (or small team) to build the MVP. Core features include a React Native front-end (iOS/Android) for capturing and uploading images, and a Python-based back-end (FastAPI or Flask) that runs the provided ML models to analyze those images. The backend will use cloud storage (Firebase or AWS S3) for images/data and handle user authentication (e.g. Firebase Auth or AWS Cognito). Key responsibilities: Develop a cross-platform React Native app with a clean UI for taking and uploading pet photos and displaying results. Build a REST API (FastAPI/Flask) to receive images, invoke the trained AI inference models (TensorFlow/PyTorch), and return analysis data. Integrate cloud services (Firebase or AWS) for secure image storage, database management, and user authentication. Ensure robust error handling, performance, and data security across the app. Write clear documentation (setup/run instructions) and tests for the MVP features. Collaborate closely with the founder; provide regular status updates and be open to feedback or suggestions. This is a short-term project (about 2–3 months) to deliver an MVP, with the possibility of extending the contract for future work.
