We cover a wide range of topics, including dining/restaurants, health/beauty, local residents, family & kids, pets, music, community collaboration, and more. Job Overview We are seeking talented and passionate freelance writers based in the Bend/Redmond area to contribute high-quality articles for our quarterly magazine. Writers will collaborate with our editorial team to produce compelling content that resonates with local readers. This is an excellent opportunity for creative individuals who are deeply connected to the Central Oregon community and eager to share its stories. Responsibilities Write engaging, well-researched articles for assigned categories, including: Dining/Restaurants Health/Beauty Local Residents Family, Kids &Pets Music Home & Lifestyle Events Collaborate with the editorial team to develop article ideas and ensure alignment with the magazine’s vision and tone. Meet quarterly deadlines for article submissions. Conduct interviews, research, and fact-checking as needed to ensure accuracy and depth in content. Adhere to editorial guidelines and maintain a consistent voice that reflects the magazine’s “written by locals for locals” ethos. Qualifications Strong writing and storytelling skills with a knack for creating engaging, reader-focused content. Deep connection to the Bend/Redmond area and familiarity with its culture, businesses, and community. Ability to write for a variety of topics and adapt tone to suit different article categories. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines. Experience in journalism, freelance writing, or content creation is preferred but not required. Must reside in the Bend/Redmond area to ensure a local perspective.
