Commission Payroll Manager – Insurance/PEO Industry (Part-Time, Remote)

Dinsmore/Steele is the largest PEO brokerage in America, helping businesses of all sizes navigate the complexities of HR, payroll, and employee benefits by matching them with the right PEO partners. With hundreds of active brokered deals and thousands of employees under management, our backend operations are the engine that keeps commissions flowing accurately and on time to our nationwide network of brokers. We’re looking for a detail-driven and proactive Commission & Payroll Specialist (with accounting potential) to join our internal ops team. Your mission: own the monthly commission statement process, ensure every deal is accounted for, and issue accurate broker payments using our streamlined tool stack. This is an execution-heavy role for someone who thrives on structure, organization, and holding others accountable for deadlines. What You’ll Do: • Compile and organize ~200 monthly commission statements across PEO carriers • Follow up on missing, delayed, or inaccurate statements directly via email • Maintain clean and organized records in Google Sheets for all deal activity • Process monthly broker payments (approx. 20 brokers) using QuickBooks • Build and maintain organized folders in Google Drive for each deal/group • Track new, ongoing, and historical deal flow to ensure commissions are never missed • Communicate with the team via Slack and email • (Optional/additional) Take on firm-wide bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities You Should Be: • Experienced with commission payroll—ideally in insurance, brokerage, or PEO settings • Confident using spreadsheets to manage large datasets and calculations • Organized, persistent, and great at following up via email professionally • Proficient with QuickBooks and Google Sheets • Based in the U.S. and looking for a long-term part-time role • Bonus: A licensed accountant or experienced bookkeeper looking to grow your role Our Goal: Ensure brokers get paid accurately and on time, every time—with full transparency, zero guesswork, and bulletproof tracking of every commission dollar earned.
