About the Role We’re looking for an experienced Energy Modeler who lives and breathes building-performance analytics and has deep, hands-on mastery of EnergyPlus or eQUEST. You’ll develop and calibrate whole-building energy models that unlock savings for our commercial and multifamily clients. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Develop & Calibrate Energy Models — Build detailed baseline and proposed-design models in EnergyPlus/eQUEST/Open studio. Energy-Saving Analysis & Reporting — Quantify ECM impacts (HVAC, envelope, DHW, controls, renewables) Design Team Collaboration — Attend meetings and coordinate with engineers and technical reviewers to embed modeling feedback. ________________________________________ Must-Have Qualifications • 3+ years’ professional energy-modeling experience with a strong portfolio of commercial or multifamily projects. • Expert-level proficiency in EnergyPlus or eQUEST (interface and IDF/DOE-2 editing). • Fluency in ASHRAE Std. 90.1 Appendix G, IECC, and local stretch codes (e.g., NJ, NYC C408, LL97). • Solid grasp of HVAC systems (VRF, WSHP, heat-pump hot-water, DOAS, condensing boilers). • Ability to read MEP drawings, mechanical schedules, and sequence-of-operations narratives. • Strong written and verbal communication—able to convey modeling assumptions, limitations, and savings to clients, engineers, and regulators.
