Minor Edits to Existing 3D CAD Prototype – Potential Ongoing Work for Injection Molding Prep
Description: I’m looking for a skilled 3D CAD designer to make minor edits to an existing prototype (STL and STEP formats). This initial task involves refining small features and adjusting dimensions to ensure better fit and printability. However, this is just the first round of edits—additional design refinements will follow as we work toward meeting the technical requirements for injection molding. Scope of Work (Phase 1): • Review and modify existing CAD files • Adjust minor dimensions, refine fit, and improve component alignment • Optimize design for 3D printing (PETG material) • Deliver updated CAD and STL files Future Work: • Collaborate on design iterations to meet injection molding manufacturer requirements • Implement draft angles, parting lines, and tolerances suitable for moldability • Prepare final production-ready files Ideal Candidate: • Proficient in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or comparable CAD tools • Experience with injection molding design standards • Strong understanding of 3D printing and manufacturing tolerances • Detail-oriented and responsive • Open to a longer-term working relationship for ongoing prototype refinements
