Senior Billing Specialist
Location: Remote Type: Independent Contractor Hours: Part-Time (20+ hours/week) Compensation: $23/hour starting Start Date: June-Training; July-Position Starts About Us: Agile ABA Billing supports mental health and ABA providers with tailored virtual assistance and streamlined administrative solutions. We’re growing—and we’re looking for a detail-driven Billing Specialist who’s ready to grow with us. Position Overview: We’re hiring a Billing Specialist with experience in medical billing (preferably ABA or mental health). This person will take ownership of billing tasks, collaborate with clients, and—over time—transition into a Billing Manager role to lead and grow our billing team. Key Responsibilities: • Manage day-to-day Revenue Cycle Management functions: insurance claims, payment positing, EOBs, KPIs, authorizations, denials, and AR follow-up • Communicate with clients to provide updates and answer billing-related questions • Use platforms such as AlohaABA, CentralReach, Tebra, or other relevant EHR systems • Identify inefficiencies or gaps in the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process • Propose and implement improvements for billing workflows and documentation • Track billing team KPIs and help build scalable systems • Participate in regular internal check-ins and billing review meetings with clients • Assist in onboarding and mentoring new billing team members (managerial track) Preferred Qualifications: • 2+ years of experience in medical billing (ABA/Mental Health preferred) Proficiency with AlohaABA, CentralReach, Tebra, or other EHR platforms strongly preferred • Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills • Proactive, self-directed, and systems-minded • Experience managing or mentoring a team is a plus • Comfortable leading client meetings and delivering insights Growth Path: This is not just a billing job, it’s a leadership opportunity.
