What is your current level of experience in freelance work?
Hey! My name is Jacob - I'm a photographer based in North Carolina. You can see some of my work here - https://www.jacobjoyner.photography I'm taking on a large influx of shoots, so I'm looking for a photo editor who can help me develop and process images. I'm really looking for someone who understands Lightroom backwards and forwards. I don't have a specific look that I'm going for - most of what I'm currently shooting is Engagements, Weddings, and Families. So most of the editing consists of just making the images better. Bringing up the exposure a bit while maintaining contrast, finding the right color temperature, sharpening the images without over doing it, adding vignettes etc. My editing breakdown is as follows: 1. Remove Objects - Using the Lightroom AI feature to remove any unwanted objects in the foreground or background. 2. Crop - Cropping the images to center them (sometimes a lopsided image is interesting) you'll have to use discretion here. 3. Exposure & Contrast - Basic Treatment - color temp, exposure, highlights, shadows, contrast. 4. Color Mixing - desaturating and saturating colors, changing the tones. 5. Sharpness - taking it to the edge without over doing it. 6. Vignettes - Adding them where needed. 7. Retouch - Removing any blemishes from the face. 8. Lens Correction All of this should be able to be done in Lightroom. I think it is essential that you have a pretty good internet connection because we are going to be swapping lots of images back and forth with the Lightroom file. I'm looking for someone with a visual eye - composition, color and contrast. Basically I'm looking for an artist. I'm still figuring out compensation and I'm willing to discuss. I feel more comfortable with a flat rate per job - but Upwork will not let me put that. Most of my portrait jobs are around the 100 image mark. Weddings and Events are much larger but typically demand less artistry. Please reply and let me know what kind of experience you have with photography and editing. I'm looking for a real human here, who I can build this business long-term with. Even though it is a pain, I'm looking for someone who is available for quick turn arounds. I'm building the business brick by brick right now, and it is essential that we get the images out within a day or two max. If this is too much - I wouldn't apply. Once selected, I will have a zoom interview with the potential candidates. Good luck!
