Instructional Designer for Online Course on Self-Publishing
We’re developing a structured, interactive online course that guides aspiring authors through the self-publishing journey, from idea to launch. The course will include short-form video lessons, downloadable resources, and creative visuals to enhance learning. We’re looking for a skilled Instructional Designer to help us shape the course into a clear, motivating, and effective learning experience. Your Role: You’ll collaborate with our content team and creatives to: Refine and structure the course curriculum across 7 modules Create engaging, learner-centered lesson flows and learning objectives Draft or refine video lesson scripts, including intro, core content, and wrap-up prompts Recommend creative educational tools (quizzes, checklists, downloads) for each module Break down complex concepts (like publishing platforms, editing, marketing) into accessible, action-driven steps Help ensure a consistent tone, pacing, and pedagogical approach Ideal Experience: 3+ years experience in instructional design, learning experience design, or online curriculum development Background in developing creative or self-improvement programs is a plus Skilled in writing or editing lesson scripts for video-based courses Familiarity with adult learning strategies and digital course platforms (e.g. Kajabi, Teachable, Thinkific) Bonus: Experience designing materials for personal branding, entrepreneurship, or creative writing topics
