VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME) – MSP Infrastructure Consultant & Team Collaborator We are a dynamic Managed Service Provider looking for a highly experienced VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support our internal IT team and client environments. This is a remote, contract-based role ideal for a senior-level engineer who not only excels in VMware technologies but also thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented setting. Responsibilities: - Assess, design, and optimize VMware vSphere environments (vCenter, ESXi) across multiple client infrastructures. - Collaborate closely with our internal engineers and project managers to align solutions with client needs and internal standards. - Provide expert-level support for VMware upgrades, migrations, and performance tuning. - Troubleshoot complex virtualization issues involving compute, storage, and networking layers. - Assist with vSAN, NSX, and Horizon deployments where applicable. - Document architecture, configurations, and SOPs for internal use and client delivery. --- Requirements: - 5+ years of hands-on experience with VMware in enterprise or MSP environments. - Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, and NSX. - Experience working in a collaborative team environment, including remote communication and documentation. - Familiarity with Windows Server environments and Active Directory integration. - PowerCLI/PowerShell scripting skills for automation and reporting. - VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, or VCDX) are highly preferred. - Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-first mindset.
