Full Stack Developer to Build Automation Platform
Hi! I'm the owner of a UK-based accountancy firm. We’re looking for help creating a simple online portal for our clients to submit their payroll updates each month. Right now, clients email us with changes (new starters, leavers, salary updates, etc.), and we manually enter this into Xero. We want to automate this process by building a secure place for clients to log in and enter the info themselves — and have it sent directly to Xero without us needing to copy and paste. We're not technical ourselves, so we need someone who can build the tool, guide us on the right setup, and explain things clearly along the way. What We’d Like the Portal to Do: Let clients log in securely Allow them to add new employees or update payroll info each month Send those changes automatically into Xero’s payroll system Give Venn (us) full access to client data so we can view, check, and edit if needed Keep a full audit history — showing who submitted what, and when Show clients a simple history of their own submissions We Think This Will Involve: Some kind of web-based portal (open to your suggestions) Connecting to Xero’s API so everything flows directly Making sure it’s secure and GDPR-compliant Hosting it somewhere safe and reliable — we currently use Microsoft tools like Azure, but are open to advice Who We’re Looking For: Someone who can build this from scratch Experience working with Xero, especially their payroll side, is a big plus Someone who can talk us through things in plain English — we’re accountants, not developers!
