Expert CAD Designer, 3D Scan & Parametric Modeling

I am seeking a highly skilled CAD expert to assist in recreating automotive trim pieces for the 2001 Land Rover Discovery II. These OEM plastic components are notoriously brittle, commonly breaking, and impossible to find replacements for. Examples include drip rail trims, HVAC vent housings, instrument binnacle mounts, and various interior switch mounts. The ideal consultant will: - Perform precise 3D scanning of original automotive trim parts. - Create highly accurate, parametric CAD models using Fusion 360 or SolidWorks. - Ensure meticulous attention to detail for dimensional accuracy and replication of OEM aesthetics. - Deliver models optimized for both 3D printing and potential future injection molding. - Clearly document all dimensions and tolerances relevant to automotive fitment. Required Skills & Expertise: - Expert-level proficiency in Fusion 360 or SolidWorks. - Demonstrable experience in precision 3D scanning and reverse engineering of physical components. - Ability to produce parametric, easily modifiable CAD files. - Experience and expertise in 3D Scanning. - Exceptional attention to detail and a proven track record of accuracy. Proposal Requirements: Please include specific samples of your previous work that showcase: - Reverse engineering from 3D scans to precise CAD models. - Restoration projects, especially involving interior and exterior trim pieces. - Examples of parametric models demonstrating clearly defined and modifiable features. This is an ongoing project where parts will be requested on an as-needed basis. Turnaround should be under a week from receipt of the part.
