What is your current level of experience in freelance work?
I have a health-care product that I want to try to license to a specific manufacturer / distributor in a niche space. I have not yet contacted the CEO but I want to be well-prepared for any discussions. Background: The CEO of that company and I last spoke in 2017. I backed away because of a low initial offer, and the belief that I could market the product on my own. After 8 years trying to market / sell the product on my own, I realize that I was wrong. My product is branded with my registered trademark name, but the CEO would likely want to entirely rebrand with his company name, to match his other products. This is a mechanical, non-electrical product (the utility patents are mechanical in nature). My main IP assets include: Utility patents Design patents Trade secrets / formulas / manufacturing know-how / tooling Manufactured product inventory (with my current branding) As mentioned, I also have a registered trademark, but it will likely be of little value to the CEO.
