Looking for Illustrator for I AM KARL (Children’s Book) Description: Hi there! I’m working on a fun and heartwarming children’s picture book called I AM KARL, about a small pup who learns the power of self-belief. I need a creative illustrator to bring this story to life! The project has about 32–33 pages (this is approximate) and includes a mix of full-page spreads and pages with 1–2 small illustrations and text, allowing for white space and scene transitions. The total number of illustrations will be around this estimate, but flexibility is appreciated. Book design 8.5"x8.5" pages full color The characters include a scruffy Brussels Griffon pup, a superhero pitbull/boxer mix, a sleek Siamese cat, and some silly chickens- I have a manuscript with images I created to help me with the flow of the story and the characters. But I want you to have artistic freedom (again my images are just for context. If hired, I would like to be able to connect via phone and zoom for intro and checkpoints. What I’m Looking For: - Warm, cartoon-style illustrations for kids - Ability to keep character designs consistent across the book - Comfortable working with feedback and revisions - Can deliver layered files (PSD, Procreate, or AI) and print-ready files - Open to transferring full rights to the artwork when the project is done Payment: - I’m happy to work off a hourly rate or fair flat fee, paid by milestones (character design, halfway point, final delivery). - Please share your rate and how long you’d expect the project to take. - I understand that this could be anywhere between $1,500 to $4,000... But working as a brand new author on a tight budget... that said, totally open to hearing what it would cost and I can find a way to accommodate. This project is very important to me.
