About Us: MiAltar is a cultural startup that provides a digital platform for creating altars (ofrendas) to honor loved ones, especially during Día de Muertos. Our current version is built on Bubble as an MVP, and we’re ready to transition to a custom-coded platform that supports performance, scale, and new features. We are in beta with global users and would like our site to be ready by August. We’re seeking a skilled web developer (or a small team) to: 1. Migrate our existing Bubble site to React/Next.js or your recommendation 2. Rebuild core features, including: * User registration/login * Create, edit, and share digital altars (with media uploads & personalization) * Stripe payment integration (freemium model) * Email notifications and basic dashboard 3. Implement new features and iterations, including: * Memorial timeline for users to post stories, milestones, or memories over time * Community altars, allowing multi-user contributions * B2B MVP functionality for organizations (e.g., schools, companies) to create branded altar experiences and manage access 4. Optimize the platform for: * SEO * Mobile responsiveness * Scalability and performance 5. Set up admin and CMS tools for our internal team to manage user content and interactions. We’d love someone with: * Strong experience with React, Next.js, Node.js, Firebase, or similar * Experience migrating from no-code platforms * Familiar with collaborative tools (e.g., shared content creation, group admin roles) * Stripe or similar payment integration * Experience with scalable architecture and future-proofing MVPs * Bonus: Background with cultural platforms, memorial/digital heritage tools, or community-centric products Deliverables: * Rebuilt site with migrated content * Fully functional feature set (existing + new) * Mobile-first, SEO-optimized frontend * Admin/moderation tools * Basic tech documentation * Ongoing iteration support (post-launch) Timeline: Initial rebuild ideally within 4–8 weeks. Feature rollouts and B2B MVP can be phased—please include your proposed timeline.
