Sourcing Expert in China (Shanghai or Ningbo area preferred) for Custom Outdoor Umbrella Prototype
Hello, I’m looking for a sourcing specialist or product development expert based in China – ideally in the Shanghai or Ningbo region – who can help bring a custom outdoor umbrella prototype to life. The goal is to develop a functional and elegant prototype that could lead to small-batch production. I’ve already been in contact with 3–4 potential suppliers across China, including in the Ningbo and Shanghai areas. Communication has begun, and one coordinator in Yuyao is currently supporting the process. However, what we really need now is someone on the ground who can bring everything together, move things forward, and help overcome delays or disconnects. What we’re looking for: – Fluent in Mandarin and English – Strong supplier network in the outdoor furniture or shade product sector – Experience with prototyping, solar integration, or similar product categories – Confident in communicating directly with suppliers and verifying feasibility – Optional: sample inspection, pricing negotiation, support with shipping logistics Your tasks may include: – Reviewing and following up with the identified suppliers – Helping assess technical feasibility and manufacturing capabilities – Ensuring clear communication between all parties – Recommending a final supplier and coordinating next steps for prototyping This is a short-term project focused on prototyping, but there’s potential for a longer-term partnership as we move into production planning.
