Searching for a skilled Production Coordinator and Copy Editor to help manage and execute large assessment report projects and other projects, as well as proofread and fact-check the reports throughout the months-long drafting and design process. We have an ongoing need for assistance with production project management, fact-checking for long and in-depth assessment reports, proofreading technical documents, and editing. The ideal candidate would have experience in research, writing and editing, project management, print production, and Adobe Creative Cloud. Responsibilities: ● Create and oversee assessment report production timelines, from initial content creation to final report publication, ensuring all deadlines are met or exceeded. ● Review and edit written materials for grammatical accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand style guidelines. ● Work closely with report content experts, graphic designers, client-facing account teams, and printers to ensure content is accurate, well-written, properly formatted, and visually appealing. ● Conduct checks on edits, layouts, graphics, and content before circulating each draft and before final printing of report. ● Track the progress of multiple report elements simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and adjusting timelines as needed to deliver high-quality drafts. ● Verify the accuracy of facts, including names, locations, dates, statistics, and sources to maintain report accuracy. ● Upload and organize report content within Google Drive, ensuring that all elements are properly labeled, categorized, and cleaned/formatted for designers to work with. ● Send final documents to print, sharing required specifications and print needs with our printing team. Requirements: ● Background in journalism, publishing, or creative project management ● Great writer, researcher, and editor in both editorial and technical styles ● Experience (and links/samples) writing or editing content for newspapers, websites, magazines, or media outlets ● Versatile, tech-savvy ● Positive attitude, detail-oriented, and independent ● Understands the AP style guide ● Familiar with Adobe InDesign, Acrobat, and Illustrator ● Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills ● Experienced working under tight deadlines ● Public health-oriented publishing or production experience a plus ● Photo research experience a plus
