Magazine Layout Designer for 36-Page Print Publication Job Description We are a magazine publisher seeking a skilled and creative freelance graphic designer to create a professional, visually appealing layout for our 36-page print magazine. The designer will be responsible for designing the full layout, ensuring it aligns with our brand identity, and preparing print-ready files that meet industry standards. This is a one-time project with the potential for future collaboration on subsequent issues. Responsibilities Design a cohesive and engaging 36-page magazine layout, including cover, table of contents, feature articles, advertisements, and other content. Incorporate provided text, images, and advertisements into the layout while maintaining a consistent aesthetic. Ensure the design aligns with our brand guidelines (to be provided). Create print-ready PDF files, adhering to our printer’s specifications (bleed, crop marks, color profiles, etc.). Make revisions based on feedback to ensure the final product meets our expectations. Deliver all source files (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator files) and fonts used in the project. Requirements Proven experience in magazine or print publication layout design, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work. Proficiency in Adobe InDesign (preferred), Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and grid-based design. Knowledge of print production processes, including preparing files for offset printing (CMYK, bleed, resolution, etc.). Ability to work within tight deadlines and incorporate feedback efficiently. Excellent communication skills and responsiveness to ensure smooth collaboration. Attention to detail and a creative eye for visually compelling layouts. Project Details Page Count: 36 pages (including cover, table of contents, articles, and ads). Timeline: 2weeks from start. Budget: looking at spending $500 per month but open for discussion. Deliverables: Print-ready PDF files. Source files (InDesign or equivalent, including all linked assets and fonts). Up to 3 rounds of revisions.
