Creative video editor for poetry reels (IG, TikTok, YouTube Shorts)
I’m looking for a creative and thoughtful video editor / visual storyteller to help bring my original poetry to life through short-form videos for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. I already have high-quality audio recordings of each poem, and I’ll provide conceptual ideas and tone for each video. I’m looking for someone who can not only understand the emotion and meaning of each piece but also bring their own creative vision and input to help make each poem visually compelling. This is a collaborative and artistic project—ideal for someone who values poetry, storytelling, and visual aesthetics. Project Details: • Platforms: Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts • Duration: Each video will be anywhere between 10 to 180 seconds, with many being less than a minute long • Assets Provided: Professionally narrated audio recordings of each poem; poems in text form; conceptual direction/ideas • Style: Emotionally resonant, visually artistic, reflective of each poem’s tone—less trendy, more timeless • Initial Task: 1 video to start; if it goes well, we’ll move forward with a full series of approximately 22 poems Ideal Candidate: • Experience editing short-form social media content • Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition • Comfortable working with spoken word and poetic voiceovers • Able to contribute creative ideas and visual direction • Proficient in editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, or similar) • Bonus: Experience with typography and subtitles to enhance storytelling Please include samples of your past work—especially anything in poetry, spoken word, or visual storytelling.
