We’re a stealth startup building a next-generation communication platform for professional services firms. We’ve built the early version of the frontend using AI tools and are now looking for a full-stack developer to lead the integration of Gmail and ensure everything works seamlessly from backend to UI. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, move quickly, and make smart architectural decisions Project Scope: The project will be considered complete when: A Gmail account can be securely connected to a user profile (OAuth 2.0) Emails sync in near real-time and display properly in the frontend Core email features are functioning: AI-powered summaries of email threads Sorting and tagging using LLMs AI-generated email drafts Frontend UI has a polished, responsive experience for the above features Functionality should be similar to tools like Serif.ai, Fyxer, and Superhuman Responsibilities: Implement OAuth 2.0 to securely link Gmail accounts Use Gmail API + Google Pub/Sub for real-time syncing Build or refine backend services to process and store email data Display emails and metadata cleanly in the existing frontend (React or similar) Integrate with LLMs (e.g., OpenAI or Claude) to generate summaries, tags, and drafts Collaborate on UX improvements and frontend adjustments as needed Handle edge cases: threading, attachments, MIME formats, error recovery Strong knowledge of Gmail API, OAuth 2.0, and real-time sync (Pub/Sub) Comfort working with modern frontend frameworks (React, Svelte, etc.) Experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) Ability to independently ship features from backend to frontend with minimal hand-holding Bonus Points For: Google Workspace domain-level experience Prior work on productivity tools, email clients, or CRMs UI/UX sensibility and ability to polish rough AI-generated frontend code Experience in a high-trust, early-stage startup environment Please include in your reply an estimate of how long you anticipate this taking you
