Graphic Designer - Florida International University

Job Summary: Ability to edit previous print and digital designs, manage workflow within given deadlines, exhibit attention to detail, and deliver completed projects in a timely manner. The Graphic Designer will work under the supervision of the Sr. Graphic Designer and will assist university clients with designs based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts to produce pieces that are strategic, on-brand and that inspire and attract the requisite target audience. Job Duties: - Focus will be on editing existing designs. - May meet with clients to understand project goals and requirements for edits. - Help manage projects including timeframe, deadlines, posting (go live), and print coordination. - Collaborate with university copywriters when appropriate to produce final design. - Collaborate with university photographers on photo shoots as necessary. - Convert existing low-resolution artwork or sketches from designers to a print-ready layered file. - Maintain job tickets in an orderly fashion and keep track of hours worked and duties accurately. Department Preferences: - Preflight and proof layouts prior/post printing press. - Experience in searching and purchasing stock photographs to illustrate ads and news stories. - Flexibility in managing projects and deadlines. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience. Must be proficient in Adobe Create Suite and requires a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
