Build a proof-of-concept AI tool to automate construction site tasks (Python + React)
We're building a fast, lightweight proof of concept for an AI-powered tool that helps construction teams save hours on routine site tasks. The idea is simple: less paperwork, more building. The tool will: • Auto-generate daily site reports from structured inputs • Fill in safety checklists and compliance docs automatically • Draft polished client updates using OpenAI • Give users a clean, React-based dashboard to review and manage everything We're kicking things off using OpenAI API for inference, but we're thinking ahead. As the product matures, we plan to explore custom voice and vision models, hosted on GPU-powered environments like RunPod or AWS, to support more advanced on-site use cases, even in low-connectivity environments. What We're Looking For • Python backend skills (FastAPI or Django) • Solid React chops (TypeScript a plus) • Experience building PWA with offline capabilities • Docker experience to containerize the whole stack • Experience integrating AI APIs (especially OpenAI) • Familiarity with voice (Whisper, etc.) or vision models • Bonus: You've shipped to GPU cloud or worked with real-time inference
