Part-Time Web Designer/Developer with SEO Responsibilities

Job Type: Part-time 15 hours. As AIM at Melanoma continues to grow, this role offers the potential to increase hours to three-quarters time or full-time, depending on workload and organizational needs. About AIM at Melanoma: AIM at Melanoma is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about melanoma, providing resources to patients and caregivers, and supporting melanoma research. Position Overview: AIM at Melanoma is seeking a Part-Time Web Developer to support the management and optimization of our digital presence across three websites. Primary Responsibilities • Manage, update, and optimize the AIM at Melanoma, AIM at Skin Cancer, AIM with Immunotherapy, and Melanoma Nurse WordPress websites for performance, speed, and SEO. o Add new pages of content to three sites as needed o Create forms using Gravity Forms, ensuring proper backend notifications and functionality. o Upload videos and manage pages with educational videos • Update monthly the homepage banners across four sites • Add on page elements (graphics) to enhance user engagement and grow email subscriber lists. • Ensure all websites adhere to accessibility standards. • Work with the marketing director to prioritize website updates and features, providing recommendations and overseeing the development of new pages from concept to completion. • Develop features and functionalities using WordPress plugins, such as a calendar and events plug in, evergreen content plug in, autopost scheduler, survey monkey,etc • Optimize website performance, ensuring responsiveness and fast load times across devices. • Maintain branding and layout consistency, ensuring attention to detail in content placement, typography, and design. • Stay informed on the latest WordPress development trends, tools, and web design best practices. SEO Optimization Responsibilities: • Optimize on-page SEO elements, including meta tags, headings (H1, H2, etc.), images (alt text and file size adjustments), and strategic keyword use. • Improve website speed by optimizing image sizes, implementing caching, and refining code. • Address technical SEO issues such as fixing broken links, managing redirects, improving URL structures, and adding canonical tags to avoid duplicate content. • Ensure websites are crawlable and properly indexed by search engines. • Implement SEO-friendly features, such as clean URL structures, sitemaps, and schema markup, to enhance site indexing and search visibility. Qualifications: • Proficiency with WordPress, website management, and basic HTML/CSS. • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices, website performance tracking tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush), and on-page SEO optimization. • Detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize projects effectively. Hours & Compensation: • This is a part-time, remote position requiring up to 15 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9 am- 5 pm ET • Flexible hours with a preference for candidates based on the East Coast for easier collaboration with Marketing Director. • Compensation between $25-$40 per hour based on experience.
