Convert Excel Warehouse Ledger into a Database with Simple Front-End
Description: We are looking for a skilled developer to convert our warehouse ledger from an Excel spreadsheet into a structured database with a simple, user-friendly front-end interface. The goal is to improve tracking, searching, and updating of pallet inventory efficiently. Project Scope: Database Setup: Convert the "New and Fresh" tab from our Excel ledger into a relational database. Recommend the best database solution (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Firebase, or another) based on scalability and ease of use. Ensure proper indexing and optimization for fast queries. Front-End Interface: A simple web-based UI for non-technical users to: Add new pallet records. Search and filter existing pallets based on key fields (e.g., SKU, date received, status, location). Edit or update pallet details. Mark pallets as shipped or removed. Clean and functional design with basic authentication (login credentials). User roles: Admin (full access) and Standard User (read/edit but no deletions). Functionality Requirements: Real-time search/filter capabilities. Data validation (prevent duplicates, enforce required fields). Easy export functionality to Excel or CSV. Optional: Barcode scanning support for pallet tracking. Ideal Candidate: Experience in database design and optimization. Proficiency in backend development (Node.js, Python, or PHP). Experience with front-end frameworks like React, Vue.js, or a simple Bootstrap-based UI. Familiarity with warehouse/inventory management systems is a plus. Strong communication skills to discuss project details and suggest improvements. Deliverables: A fully functional web application with database integration. User guide or documentation on how to use and maintain the system. Assistance in deploying the solution on our hosting provider.
