A nonprofit organization that funds medical research to improve health and quality of life for people with physical disabilities is seeking a Donor Communications Specialist. Individual will work directly with the Executive Director with occasional Zoom meetings to discuss expectations. You will receive assignments with deadlines on a schedule to be mutually determined. Responsibilities include: • Draft communications with donors • Write monthly thank you emails • Quarterly newsletter to major donors • Generate stories for donor communication vehicles • Interview past grant recipients • Gather information on grant winners’ subsequent NIH funding and publications • Assist with writing articles for the website • Coordinate social media posts with volunteers The qualified candidate will possess: • MUST HAVE at least 2-3 years’ experience in either a nonprofit or medical organization • Excellent professional writing and storytelling skills • Professional social media experience • A college degree in marketing, journalism, English or related field • Time management and work prioritization skills • Ability to work independently within 90 days • Some knowledge of or experience with fundraising is desirable. This could be an ongoing opportunity for a creative self-starter with excellent writing skills.
