Location: Los Angeles, CA (In-person required) Job Type: Part-time / Contract Compensation: Competitive, based on experience About Us: Straw Hut Media is a dynamic podcast production agency that produces over 25 audio and video podcasts a week. We work with brands, businesses, and individuals to create compelling, high-quality content. We are looking for a Studio Manager / Podcast Producer to join our team to oversee studio operations, assist with podcast production, and contribute creative ideas to enhance our shows. What You’ll Do: Studio Management & Talent Relations: • Be physically present at the studio for scheduled recordings • Ensure all studio equipment (audio, video, and lighting) is set up and functioning properly • Maintain a professional demeanor while working with hosts, guests, and production teams—including high-profile talent and celebrities • Make guests feel comfortable and ensure a smooth recording experience • Maintain an organized, welcoming studio environment Podcast Production & Content Editing: • Write compelling show notes and intro copy for each episode • Edit and refine content for clarity, engagement, and storytelling flow • Assist in structuring and improving podcast episodes for maximum engagement • Brainstorm and pitch creative ideas for new podcast episodes and formats • Work closely with hosts and producers to enhance storytelling and content flow Camera & Lighting Operation: • Operate and monitor cameras during podcast recordings • Have a basic understanding of camera functions including ISO, aperture, and shutter speed • Our studio lighting is turnkey, but you should have some familiarity with lighting concepts • Assist with simple framing adjustments and ensuring proper exposure Who You Are: • A people person with strong interpersonal skills—confident and professional when interacting with guests and talent • Comfortable working with celebrities and high-profile guests in a professional setting • Experienced in podcast production (writing, editing, structuring content) • Strong writing skills for crafting engaging show notes and introductions • Familiar with content editing for podcasts or other productions • Creative thinker with innovative podcast ideas • Detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple recordings • Basic knowledge of camera operations (ISO, aperture, shutter speed) is required • Familiarity with Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere, or Descript is preferred • Training is available for the right candidate, but you must have an interest in learning audio and video editing Bonus Skills (Not Required but a Plus): • Audio editing experience • Video editing or familiarity with recording software • Social media content creation for podcasts If you’re passionate about podcasts and love both the technical and creative sides of production—while being comfortable working with talent in a professional studio setting—we’d love to hear from you!
