Detail-oriented annotators needed for an open-source intelligent web assistant project
Note: we will begin reviewing proposals the week of March 10th, 2025, at which time you can expect to hear from the team. We are researchers with the Multimodal team at Ai2, a non-profit AI research institute. Our team is responsible for groundbreaking work such as Objaverse, Molmo and more. We are looking to hire at least 5 motivated, detail-oriented, tech-savvy annotators for a data-collecting and data-entry task to support an open-source intelligent web assistant development and research project. Participants will be provided with research accounts and will be tasked with navigating the web and taking dynamic actions on a diverse set of websites including creating research accounts and logging into a variety of platforms where actions such as shopping, searching, booking and more may take place. These actions will be captured via screen recordings and keyboard and mouse inputs for the purpose of training a web assistant that can help users with everyday web browsing activities similar to Google’s Mariner, or OpenAI’s Operator (users will NOT be recorded at any point). Participants will also be asked to review the captured recordings and generated summaries of the actions taken to ensure accuracy and add any additional details or context as needed. Participants will be provided the necessary information to complete these research tasks and are required NOT to use their personal information. Ideal candidates will be technically savvy with experience using a variety of technologies and applications including web extensions and note taking apps. Prior experience with similar data collection work and annotation tasks is highly desirable. A solid internet connection is required for this task. (candidates must be 18 years of age or older) We estimate that this project will take approximately 30 - 40 hours a week over the course of about two months. This estimate includes one hour for reading the guidelines and completing a paid screening task, which will be used to evaluate your work quality and decide whether to extend the contract beyond the screening task, to the ~2 month contract. This project can be completed fully remotely. Upon confirming the engagement, you will be asked to sign Ai2’s Upwork Project Agreement outlining the terms and conditions of your participation in this project.
