Character Illustrator for Science-Based Superhero Brand (2.5D Style)
Project Summary: We’re looking for a skilled character artist to redraw 11 existing characters from our animated science-based superhero universe, Biome Brigade®, in a high-resolution, 2.5D illustrated style. These characters will be featured on product packaging, our website, digital and print advertising, and more — so they must be delivered in versatile, professional formats. You will not be designing characters from scratch. Instead, you will be working from existing reference artwork and will be asked to preserve the current look and feel of each character while enhancing them to a more polished, shaded, 3D-inspired “2.5D” illustrated style. Scope of Work: 1. Redraw a total of 11 characters, including: - 6 Hero Characters (e.g. Captain Hologram, Doctor Biotic) - 3 Villains (e.g. Eli Cole, Flaky Jake, Claus Stridium) - 2 Sidekick/Creature Characters (Backpack the Bacteriophage, ARMY A.N.T.) 2. Provide turnarounds: Front, ¾ view, side, back (minimum) 3. Maintain character integrity, colors, and proportions — we’ll provide existing designs and color palettes 4. Style: 2.5D illustration (shading, depth, lighting to simulate 3D look, but still in 2D art) 5. Final assets will be used in print, packaging, digital, animation, and web marketing Deliverables: 1. High-resolution PNGs (transparent background, 300 DPI, minimum 3000x3000 px) 2. Layered PSD or AI files for each character 3. Optional: Vector versions (AI or SVG) 4. Fully rendered character turnarounds (4 angles minimum) 5. Bonus: Expression/emotion sheet (optional) Timeline: • Start: ASAP • Deadline: April 30, 2025 • We are available to onboard quickly and provide references immediately Additional Notes: 1. Must be willing to sign an NDA and assign all IP rights to Biome Brigade, Inc. 2. This is a work-for-hire project 3. Great work may lead to additional illustration or animation projects (comics, game assets, etc.) Ideal Candidate Has: 1. Portfolio with 2.5D character illustrations (Pixar-style, DreamWorks-inspired, or similar) 2. Experience designing characters for packaging, animation, or marketing 3.
