What is your current level of experience in freelance work?
We’re looking for a SolidWorks designer to work with us on retail display projects. The job involves recreating old designs, making quote and instruction drawings, and, most importantly, turning customer sketches or images into SolidWorks files for quoting. Ideally, it would also include preparing presentation ready renderings to present to customers. Experience with sheet metal, tube, and wire is important, and retail display experience is a big plus. What You’ll Do: - Grow into taking sketches, pictures, and other project materials from customers and preparing them for quoting. This means creating retail display drawings, based on our current designs, as well as creating new designs. This could also mean mocking up product on the displays, and rendering images. - Recreate designs from old drawings, supplier files, and customer images - Create quote and instruction drawings using our templates and methods - Join team meetings to discuss projects and make sure designs match our standards - Work on 1-3 new projects per week, plus updates on ongoing projects - Keep all customer-related information confidential What We’re Looking For: - SolidWorks expert, especially with sheet metal, tube, and wire - Experience with retail displays (metal or non-metal) is a big plus - Good communication skills and ability to work closely with our team - Willingness to follow our templates and design methods for consistency - Available during business hours for quick discussions and fast turnarounds (1-2 days per project) - Ability to open and work with SolidWorks 2025 files (SolidWorks Visualize is a plus but not required) - Interest in a long-term working relationship If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you.
