Mathematician / Data Scientist Needed to Build an Optimization Solver Tool
Description: I am looking for a mathematician or data scientist to develop an optimization solver tool that allows me to define an objective and apply various constraints. The tool should efficiently determine the optimal solution based on the given conditions. I can provide all the objectives and constraints; I need someone to structure and implement the solver in a way that allows for easy adjustments and testing. Key Requirements: Strong mathematical background in optimization, operations research, or linear programming Experience with Solver in Excel, Python (SciPy, PuLP, or Gurobi), or VBA to build optimization models Ability to work with financial or investment-related constraints (preferred) Knowledge of constrained optimization methods (e.g., linear programming, quadratic programming, mixed-integer programming) Experience structuring data for efficient solving Deliverables: A user-friendly solver tool (Excel-based with Solver, Python script, or another recommended solution) Documentation or instructions for adjusting constraints and objectives Potential ongoing support for refining the model Preferred Skills (Nice to Have): Familiarity with municipal bonds, financial modeling, or investment portfolio constraints Experience using Gurobi, CPLEX, or other advanced solvers for large-scale optimization Let me know your preferred approach (Excel Solver, Python, or another method) and any relevant experience you have with similar optimization problems.
