Architect Needed for Vacation Home Remodel & Floorplan Optimization
We are looking for an experienced architect to help us optimize the floorplan of our vacation home in California. The house was built in 1937 and is currently structured as a main house with two separate apartments. We’d like to integrate one of the apartments into the main house while keeping the other as a standalone unit. The goal is to improve the overall flow and functionality of the space with a modern design approach. Project Scope: - Review existing floorplan and layout - Propose an optimized design to incorporate one apartment into the main house while maintaining the second as a separate unit - Improve flow, accessibility, and functionality of the space - Ensure the design maintains the home’s character while incorporating modern living concepts - Provide recommendations on structural modifications if necessary Requirements: - Licensed architect in California with experience in residential remodeling - Experience working with older homes (preferably pre-1940s) and modernizing layouts - Ability to create detailed architectural plans and drawings - Knowledge of structural considerations and feasibility of proposed changes Deliverables: - Revised floorplan with proposed updates - Architectural drawings that detail changes and improvements - Recommendations for layout optimization We have attached an initial preview of the floorplan for reference.
