Need Family Law Attorney to Assist with QDRO Status and Distribution After Ex-Spouse's Retirement
I am seeking a qualified and experienced family law attorney—preferably with expertise in Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs) and retirement account distributions—to help me navigate the next steps after my ex-spouse’s retirement. Background: I was divorced in 2014. A QDRO was drafted, approved, and signed by a judge at that time. My ex-spouse recently retired, and I want to ensure I receive the portion of the retirement benefits that were awarded to me in the QDRO. It was a difficult period in my life, and I honestly don’t recall whether any action was ever taken after the QDRO was signed. What I Need: Legal assistance to investigate the current status of the QDRO. Help determining whether the QDRO was ever submitted to and accepted by the plan administrator. Support in initiating or completing the distribution process, if it hasn’t been done. Guidance on any additional paperwork, follow-up with the retirement plan, or legal steps required. Ideal Candidate: Licensed attorney with experience in family law and QDROs. Familiar with the process of enforcing or activating a QDRO after retirement.
