QuickBooks Online Expert Needed – Cleanup for Two Companies & Sales Tax Prep
I’m looking for a highly experienced QuickBooks Online bookkeeper to clean up and correct the books for two related companies. The bookkeeping was poorly managed after a longtime employee left, and multiple people attempted to “fix” things—resulting in a mess of duplicate entries, misapplied payments, and uncategorized transactions. This role requires someone with excellent attention to detail, a deep understanding of multi-entity setups, and the ability to work independently and efficiently. If the job is done right, there is ongoing work available. The Situation: • Transactions have been entered inconsistently since August 2024 • Intercompany billing has been mishandled • Open invoices remain on one company, while payments were logged as expenses in the other • A previous reconciliation excluded incorrect transactions to force a match • Bank balances currently do not match statements • Prior entries used bulk/lump-sum PayPal deposits (not individual transactions) • The goal now is to shift to individual transactions for proper sales tax tracking and integration with Square, PayPal, and Authorize.net ⸻ What You’ll Do: • Review and clean up both QuickBooks accounts • Reconcile all bank accounts accurately • Correct inter-company transactions • Reapply payments properly • Ensure all items are categorized correctly • Prepare the system for integration with sales platforms and accurate tax reporting ⸻ Requirements: • Proven experience with QuickBooks Online cleanup • Comfortable with multi-entity structures and intercompany billing • Strong grasp of U.S. accounting and sales tax basics • Able to work independently and ask smart questions when needed • Experience with Square, PayPal, and Authorize.net is a major plus ⸻ To Apply, Include: 1.
